I'm Going to Miss You Old Friend

This big old red maple has been a part of our family going on twenty five years. She's been awfully tired the last couple of years. I've been waiting and waiting for her to leaf out... hopeful for one last show. Thanks for all your shade and glory, old red.

I am glad I knew you when.

Out of the Corner of My Eye

Today is day three in a row of glorious sunshine. We took the morning and peddled down through the Granville Gulf. The side of the road from the seat of a bike is littered with eye catching treasures.

Keep your eyes peeled!

Happy to see the Brookies weathered the flood waters.

A most curious encounter was this fluttering party of Tiger Swallowtails. Not sure what they were up to.

A little mineral rich drink of Vermont's pure mountain water, perhaps?

What caught your eye today?

Good Morning Sunshine

An early Sunday morning wakeup call, it's just after 4:00 am. We are on our way, up and over the Roxbury Gap to welcome a wonder of all wonders.

"There's a moose in the woods, do you want to stop?"

"No time for moose this morning, keep driving."

We arrive He arrives... right on time.

Hello, Love.

Rainy Day Rescue

I'm going in. I'm pilfering the patch. I know I shouldn't, but it's Cinco de Mayo!  A perfectly good reason for mixing up a pitcher of rhubarbaritas. Not to mention these past few weeks of cold, dreary, sunless, rainy days are driving us to drink loco. And you can't make Rhubarbaritas without fresh rhubarb. Just a handful of stalks is all I need, though the recipe calls for "as much as you have" (whatever that means). I have future plans for our rhubarb patch. Every stalk is priceless when it comes to a "Rhubarb Kiss".

On my way back through the garden I noticed my, first ever started from seed, Walla Walla sweets are sprouting. Dreaming of burgers hot off the grill, slathered in these babies come summertime, kind of makes me want to do a little dance.

So what do you do for fun and sanity while you wait for the sun to shine?

Oliver and Popi have the right idea... it's full out pandemonium on the coffee table.

Showcasing two of my favorite (Yes, I admit it, I've a thing for these things) superheroes... here they are to save the day!

Here's to sunny skies... Salud!
